THE GOOD
|
Not only was he the biggest paying Breeders Cup winner in history, paying $269.20, but he may have saved himself from
becoming extinct. Belonging to a rare "bred for war" bloodline, he terrorized the field coming down the stretch, looking all
the mighty tyrant he was 300 years ago. Trained by the great Andre Fabre, who had him running through the Chantilly woods
and up mountains all day long as part of his preparation for the race, and ridden by the legendary Jerry Bailey, who picked
up the ride nobody wanted , his performance in the 1993 Breeders Cup Classic against all odds, puts him on this list.

THE BAD
|
We won't list any more horses that have died on the track, but had to list this one. Watching this horse absolutely
refuse to give up the lead in the Breeders Cup Distaff was just unreal, she kept digging in for more and more, then she suddenly
went down about 100 feet before the finish line. It has to rank as one of the worst moments of all time.
